Version 1.6
With this version iPod Launcher is now a Universal application and some rare launching problems have been fixed.

Version 1.5.1
Fixes a problem where iPod Launcher would not perform any launch operations after being installed (it was waiting for an initial — and incorrect — delay to pass).

Version 1.5
You can set a delay to hold off on further launches until a specified amount of time passes (thus ignoring intervening iPod connections).

The launcher no longer uses any system resources until an iPod is actually connected to your Mac.

The launcher is bundled with the preference pane so that installs and removing iPod Launcher is greatly simplified.

Backup and syncing scripts have been made more robust.

Version 1.4
The user interface has been enhanced to allow for the re-ordering of application launching through dragging and dropping the items in the preferences pane. Also, each item now includes a tooltip that indicates the location used by iPod Launcher when trying to launch the item.

A sync script has been added (iPodsync) that will keep the contents of folders on 2 (or more) Macs in sync. Now you can make sure your home and work Macs have the same up-to-date files simply by plugging in your iPod! See the scripts readme file for more details.

The sample scripts now automatically locate your iPod so you don’t have to code it in to the script (you still have to specify the folders to backup).

The sample backup script (copy2iPod) have been modified to use rsync. This means that it will only backup changed files, resulting in much faster backup operations. See the scripts readme file for details on upgrading your backup script.

Version 1.3
You can now select which applications in your list will be launched. This is useful if you’re connecting your iPod multiple times in a day but don’t want to keep running the backup script. Instead of removing it from the list simply deselect it from the list and connect your iPod. When you’re done you can select it again for the next time you connect your iPod.

You can now determine how often iPod Launcher will check for an iPod. There are also a number of performance (both CPU and memory) improvements.

The sample backup script has been modified to use ditto instead of cp so that resource forks are correctly copied. Another script has been added that archives and compresses backups instead of simply copying them.

Version 1.2.2
This is a maintenance release to deal with problems encountered when iPod names are “non-standard” Unix names (i.e. they include special characters).

Version 1.2.1
This is a maintenance release to deal with some memory problems. In addition, it will now recognize iPods that are bootable.

Version 1.2
You can now select AppleScripts to run (compiled scripts having a .scpt extension as well as AppleScript applications). With AppleScript, there’s no limit to what can be done when you connect an iPod — automatic backups are just the beginning! The download includes a sample script for automating backups to your iPod.

You can now select files to load. This allows you to launch an application with a file (for those applications that can use the file to define actions to perform on launch).

Version 1.1
You no longer have to type in application names. The preference pane provides a panel from which you can select the applications to add to your launch list.

Version 1.0.1
This is a maintenance release that addresses some installation problems people have been experiencing whereby the utility wouldn’t correctly launch at the end of the installation process and/or wouldn’t correctly handle permissions since it wasn’t authorizing the installation.
