Send iCal notifications via your favourite e-mail application.
iCal has the great ability to e-mail
notifications for events (great for sending reminders to your
cellphone!). The only problem is that it forces you to use Apple's Mail
application. Select from the installers listed below to update iCal so
that it uses your e-mail application instead of Mail for e-mailing
notifications (currently supporting Entourage, Eudora, Mailsmith,
PowerMail, and GyazMail -- if there's another application you'd like to see supported
please let
us know.
Thunderbird currently lacks the Applescript support required
but when it does we'll add installers for it as well).

iCal via Entourage version 2.1
iCal via Eudora version 2.1
iCal via Mailsmith version 2.1
iCal via PowerMail version 2.1
iCal via GyazMail version 2.1
- free, donations can be made via Kagi
- Requires Mac OS X 10.5 (or greater)
Note that to remove this and revert to using Mail you can open iCal as a package,
go to the Resources->Scripts folder, delete Mail.scpt and rename OldMail.scpt to Mail.scpt. You will have to do the same for iCal Helper, which can be found in the CalendarStore.framework (within System->Library->frameworks).

iCal via Entourage version 1.0
iCal via Eudora version 1.0
iCal via Mailsmith version 1.0
iCal via PowerMail version 1.0
iCal via GyazMail version 1.0
- free, donations can be made via Kagi
- Requires Mac OS X 10.2 (or greater) and iCal 1.0.2 (or higher)
Note that to restore standard Mail functionality you
will need to re-install iCal to remove the changes made by these
installers. The easiest way to do this is to make a duplicate of iCal that you can restore if you want to go back (i.e., make a backup of iCal first).
